StreetKidsMatter wants to encourage people to better understand the situation in Romania.

There is a surprising lack of knowledge about the country from the UK and, I suspect, much of Europe.

Though the old-style state-run orphanage has all but gone, the legacy remains. The Romanian government is working hard to align itself with the standards expected elsewhere in Western Europe, but it cannot be done overnight.
